Founder Wanda Frey Joiner was inspired after attending Kiwanis “ladies' night” party.
In 1919, one year before women in the United States won the right to vote, she and five business women inspired to serve, founded Quota International as the first international women’s service organization.
Quota was first established in Central Oregon in 1977 and has been sustained solely by volunteers and generous donors. Today, more than 5,000 Quota members, women, men, and youth, come together to help women and children overcome poverty, educational, and workforce challenges in 14 countries.
We are always welcoming new members. Quota provides a great opportunity to enjoy time with new friends while serving the community.
of Central Oregon (QICO)
Quota International is a non-profit organization empowering women, children, the deaf and hard-of-hearing, and people with speech difficulties in local communities and around the world.
Quota's Objects, established in 1919 and revised in 1996, serve as our mission:
Quench in our hearts, O Lord, all fires of Selfishness,
Unfold to us the joys of true friendship
Open our minds to a better understanding of service
Teach us the real meaning of sharing
And help us to hold high those principles of Quota for which we stand.
